The “Don Lorenzo Milani” Comprehensive School welcomes a German school group from the Ückendorf Gesamtschule for an exciting European project coordinated by teacher Mrs. Elisa Nicolosi. From November 25th to 27th, our “Don Lorenzo Milani” Comprehensive School in Misterbianco will have the honor of hosting a school group from Germany as part of the eTwinning project “Glitter and Greetings Across Europe”, an initiative that unites culture, creativity, and the European spirit during the most magical time of the year!
The days will begin with a warm welcome from the entire school community, which will greet the young guests with musical and dance performances by the School Orchestra and our students. This will be followed by a guided school tour and an engaging creative workshop carried out with the support of Mrs Arezzo, during which Italian and German students will create unique and colorful Christmas Pop Up Cards together — a symbol of friendship and sharing.
The second day will be dedicated to discovering the natural wonders of Sicily: an excursion to Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, followed by a stroll and a Treasure Hunt through the streets of Taormina to admire its famous Ancient Theatre and the breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.
The international school partnership will conclude with a morning devoted to the art and history of Catania, exploring the Roman Theatre, the Amphitheatre, Roman Baths, the Cathedral and the “Liotru”.
This project represents an important opportunity for cultural and linguistic exchange, but above all, an experience of growth and friendship that will remain in the hearts of our students.
The “Don Lorenzo Milani” Institute thus confirms its role as a school open to Europe, capable of combining tradition, hospitality, and educational innovation under the banner of international cooperation.
L’I.C. “Don Lorenzo Milani” accoglie una scolaresca tedesca proveniente dalla scuola Gesamtschule Ückendorf per un entusiasmante progetto europeo coordinato dalla prof.ssa Elisa Nicolosi. Dal 25 al 27 novembre, il nostro Istituto Comprensivo “Don Lorenzo Milani” di Misterbianco avrà l’onore di ospitare una scolaresca proveniente dalla Germania nell’ambito del progetto ETwinning “Christmas Cards in Catania”, un’iniziativa che unisce cultura, creatività e spirito europeo nel periodo più magico dell’anno!
Le giornate si apriranno con un caloroso benvenuto da parte di tutta la comunità scolastica, che accoglierà i giovani ospiti con esibizioni musicali dell’orchestra dell’Istituto e coreografiche preparate dai nostri studenti. Seguirà un tour guidato della scuola e un emozionante laboratorio creativo, durante il quale i ragazzi italiani e tedeschi realizzeranno insieme biglietti di Natale unici e colorati, simbolo di amicizia e condivisione realizzati con la collaborazione della prof.ssa Arezzo. Il secondo giorno sarà dedicato alla scoperta delle meraviglie naturali della Sicilia: un’escursione sull’Etna, il vulcano attivo più alto d’Europa, seguita da una passeggiata tra le vie di Taormina, per ammirare il suo celebre teatro greco e i panorami mozzafiato sul mare Ionio. Il viaggio si concluderà con una mattinata dedicata all’arte e alla storia di Catania, tra resti romani, anfiteatri e terme antiche.
Questo progetto rappresenta un’importante occasione di scambio culturale e linguistico, ma soprattutto un’esperienza di crescita e amicizia che rimarrà nel cuore dei nostri studenti.
L’Istituto “Don Lorenzo Milani” si conferma così una scuola aperta all’Europa, capace di unire tradizione, accoglienza e innovazione educativa sotto il segno della cooperazione internazionale.
